On June 14, a delegation of the Thai Chamber of Commerce led by the director, Hu Yan, visited Xi’an Railway Vocational & Technical Institute, and discussed and negotiated the China-Thailand cooperation of the rail transit talents training with XRVTI.
The president Tian Heping briefly introduced the overall situation of the institute. Then he emphasizedunder the background of the Belt and Road strategy,the establishment of the International Transport College, jointly run with Russian St. Petersburg State Transport University, has taken our China-foreign education cooperation to a new stage.
Tian said XRVTI is the founding member unit of the Sino-Russian Union of Transport University Presidents, the member unit of the China-ASEAN Vocational Education Union and the member unit of the Belt and Road International Union of Vocational Education. XRVTI is willing and capable of starting a new era of training rail transit talents for nations alongside the Belt and Road. At present, as Thai government has launched a big push to the infrastructural construction, Thai-Chinacooperation in the field of transportation is in line with the current developing trendand has conjunction with the Belt and Road consensus.
Hu Yan had long-term concern on the development of Chinese high-speed rail and is committed to working for the educational cooperation between Thailand and China. She stated that the main aim of the visit was to boost to establish the rail transit talents pool in Thailand which would provide the high-level human resources for the development of Thai railway industry.
Both sides have reached a consensus which will be put on the agenda rapidly. Vice president Zhao Liujie and Zhao jingmin, Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Center, attended the talks.
