The School of Transportation is a strong, distinctive and rapidly developing school in Xi’an Railway Vocational & Technical Institute. It is an advanced collective in Xi’an, an advanced collective of professional ethics and an advanced collective of spiritual civilization construction in Shaanxi Province.

The School has 72 full-time teachers, including 7 professors, 16 associate professors, 35 lecturers, 9 teaching assistants. Among them, there are 2 with a doctor’s degree and 41 with a master’s degree. There is one national excellent teacher, two famous teachers in the rail transit industry of national vocational education, three famous common college teachers of Shaanxi Province, five young and middle-aged excellent teachers at the provincial level, six excellent teachers at the provincial level, and one domestic visiting scholar. Each major has teaching teams composed of full-time teachers and senior technical personnel of enterprises. Among them, “the professional teaching team of railway traffic operation management” and “the professional teaching team of urban rail transit operation management” are excellent teaching teams at provincial level. In recent years, our School has completed a number of scientific research projects of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Railways and edited more than 50 national planning textbooks. At the same time, it has cooperated with Xi’an Metro and other units to compile a number of school-based textbooks for urban rail transit majors.

The School of Transportation currently has five backbone majors: Railway Traffic Operation Management, Urban Rail Transit Operation Management, High-Speed Rail Passenger Services, Logistics Management and Railway Logistics Management, among which the “Railway Traffic Operation Management” major is a key specialty recognized by the Ministry of Education and a key specialty of higher vocational education in Shaanxi Province. The “Urban Rail Transit Operation Management” major is a key specialty of higher vocational education in Shaanxi Province and a provincial demonstration construction specialty.

The school has many large-scale comprehensive drill places such as railway traffic comprehensive training ground, urban rail transit training base and logistics information management training room with the building area of more than 3,000 square meters and a total investment of more than 30 million yuan. The facilities, fully equipped and advanced in technology, can hold more than 300 students who are trained in skills at the same time, taking the leading position in similar universities across China. The training base can carry out national vocational skills appraisal and occupation qualification certification.
