The 2018 Asian Education Forum Annual Meeting was held in Chengdu on September 21. The meeting was hosted by Yao Wang, Senior Advisor of Boao Forum for Asia and Secretary General of Asia Education Beijing Forum, Yang Xingping, Vice Governor of Sichuan Provincial People's Government, Li Shoucheng, former Prime Minister of South Korea, former President of Bolivia, Jorge Quiroga, and President of China Higher Education Society. Du Yubo, Sun Weijie, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of the China Association of Higher Education, Father of Big Data, Professor Victor Schonberg of Oxford University, Zheng Qiang, Deputy Secretary of Zhejiang University Party Committee, and representatives of politicians, professional educators and institutions from Asia-Pacific countries attended the opening ceremony.
This annual conference held a total of nine sub-forums with different themes. Among them, the "Asia-Pacific Professional International Cooperation Forum" is based on the theme of "Servicing the Belt and Road Initiatives, Building and Promoting Asia-Pacific Vocational Education Cooperation". Xia Juan, deputy director of the Chinese and Foreign Humanities Exchange Center of the Ministry of Education of China, and former Vice President of China Higher Vocational and Technical Education Research Association President Wang Zhaoming, Deputy Consul General of the German Consulate in Chengdu, Fu Anshi, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Vocational Education Association, Yu Zuguang, and Assistant Director of the Department of Vocational and Technical Education of the Ministry of Education of Malaysia, Zhai Tong·Hamid gave speeches in succession.
In the second sub-forum, the guests presented certificates and commemorative cups to 50 educational institutions from the Asia-Pacific region. Huang Jiachang, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and secretary of the Disciplinary Committee of our school, attended the award ceremony on behalf of the college.
This honor is affirmation and recognition of a series of practices and international influences in the context of the continuous acceleration of internationalization in recent years, the increasing frequency of foreign educational exchanges, and the constant innovation of foreign cooperation and exchanges.
During the meeting, Deputy Secretary Huang Jiachang and Director Zhao Jingmin met with Nohayati Wahab, Director of the Sultan Abdul Samad Vocational College in Malaysia, and Bainis, Director of the Malaysian International Education Center, to reach a consensus on cooperation and exchange. Dong Shuqin, director of the English Teaching and Research Office, accompanied the whole process.
