The School of International Transportation is a China-foreign cooperative education institution jointly run by Xi’an Railway Vocational & Technical Institute and St. Petersburg State Transport University in Russia. It is also the earliest China-foreign cooperative education institution in higher vocational colleges in Shaanxi Province.
Xi’an Railway Vocational & Technical Institute and the St. Petersburg State Transport University have many rail transit professional counterparts, which have the basis of complementary advantages. The two schools have great cooperation space and potential in jointly training high-quality technical and skilled talents.
After nearly two years of negotiations and application, The School of International Transportation was officially approved by the People’s Government of Shaanxi Province in September 2015 and in May 2016, the Ministry of Education approved the license (license number GOV61RUA03DNR20160909N). Enrollment was initiated in the same year.
The School of International Transportation implements a three-year college diploma education with a size of 1,080 students, which is included in the national general colleges and universities for recruitment. The majors include: Rail Transit Operation Management (600108H), Urban Rail Transit Electromechanical Technology (600602H), Railway Power Supply Technology (6 00103H), Railway Locomotive (600101H), Railway Vehicle (600102H), Railway Engineering Technology (6 00104H), etc.
The School of International Transportation implements relatively independent management and small class teaching. On the basis of the complementary sharing of educational and teaching resources, it pays attention to the leading role of foreign cultural and educational experts, highlights the basic characteristics of Russian learning, and works together to cultivate international professional and technical personnel that meet the need of developing the Belt and Road.
